Networking with ‘Creative Coffee’

On Wednesday this week Mike and Tony attended the CreativeCoffee networking session at the Phoenix Arts Centre in Leicester. ‘CreativeCoffee’? Well, it’s about ‘Creativity, Coffee and Conversation’. A free fortnightly networking meet-up for Creative People and those looking to meet Creatives. They said “We will always offer you a warm welcome and provide you with the chance to build your contacts, exchange ideas and discuss work opportunities in a professional environment.

GWA visit to the World of Learning

Like all good development professionals we recognise the value of investing in our own learning – so this week we headed off to the NEC in Birmingham to visit the World of Learning Conference and Exhibition.

We were particularly interested in the latest trends in technology and how this could add to our learning programmes – so were pleased to find exhibits on the impact of e-learning, the use of mobile apps and tablets in the delivery of training and the potential of virtual classrooms.  Mike and Tony 1

This has given us plenty to think about in the future development of our Leadership and Management programmes.

Ian McDermott

We heard about the Ten Essential Steps For Turning Vision into Reality from Ian McDermott, and chatted to a various exhibitors, including Ian Barnett from revelationtraining.

All in all a positive day well spent!

Welcome to Our New Associate

We’re delighted to welcome Tony Barradell to our team of associates.

Having known Tony as a friend for more than 18 years we are thrilled to finally have the opportunity of working together on a professional level (we did have a brief time developing Murder Mystery Evenings for fun – but more of that another time!).  Tony brings great experience to the team and particularly adds financial expertise to our portfolio.  Together we are working closely to develop our Starting Your Own Business programme due to launch in Leicester in 2013.
Tony now operates as a freelance consultant – and he has his fingers in many pies!  As a Chartered Manager he delivers professional, fun and inspiring courses to groups of managers of all levels. He also provides one-to-one coaching and workshops within companies. He is a speaker for a professional institute and an editor for a training magazine.  Alongside this he works with a local secondary school as a trustee and governor and is involved with an environmental charity.
